Never stop learning
A continuous, life-long learning approach is a good habit to have for life in general. Taking in new information is a good way for us to keep growing as well as expanding our comfort zone. There is always some new information and new ways of doing things that could help improve your ranching operation.
Get more involved
Being involved in our communities and our industry as a whole is always a good idea. With the growing disconnect between producers and consumers, as well as all the false information out there, it is important we have our story heard. What we do is important for the world and we must ensure it will be still around for generations to come.
Re-evaluate your plans and goals
With your mind on the new year now is a good time to look at your ranch plan and goals to see if it is still working like it should. You can look at what is working on your operation, what is not, and if any changes are needed. The point is that you want to make sure that your plan is getting you to the goals that you are wanting to accomplish. Perhaps you may need to supplement some in order to get calves to the weight that you want (we discuss the importance of supplementing here).
These are just 3 possible resolutions that you could adopt going into the new year. The key is that you want to go with what works for you and what you are wanting to accomplish. One thing that you can do to help ensure that you make it is to track your progress so you can see just how far you have come since you started. Happy New Year to you.
